Joan Rendell wrote on local history of Cornwall and authored more than 30 books.
Full biography
Born in Plymouth, Rendell lived at Tremarsh, Werrington in Cornwall. She wrote on local history and became a Cornish Bard in 1980. Her bardic name was Scryfer Weryn, meaning writer of Werrington. She was also an enthusiastic matchbox and corn dolly collector. Rendell died in a house fire in 2010.
